David P. Gomez — the award-winning founder, C.E.O., and President of David Gomez & Associates, Inc. (DG&A) — demands excellence across the areas of executive search and corporate board placement. His expertise in diversity consulting also has earned him a consistent and prominent presence in the pages of national and trade publications including the Wall Street Journal as well as Latino Leaders and Dinero magazines.
Under David's leadership, DG&A has established strategic relationships with the nation’s leading companies, providing them with the talent critical to continued business success. Over the past 35 years, David and his team have assisted organizations -- spanning the Fortune 500 to government agencies and non-profit organizations -- with tough-to-fill assignments. Recently, DG&A helped the second largest county in the United States overhaul their health and hospitals system, as well as assist one of the largest cities find, screen, and select its police superintendent. The firm’s reach also extends to post-Katrina recovery efforts in New Orleans, bringing much-needed talent to the region battered by storm damage and economic instability. David and his staff worked directly with Mayor Ray Nagin to help the city staff its highest-level technologist position, Chief Technology Officer.
Those types of success stories and David's passion for placement have made him a high-profile leader within his field. David was recently appointed Nominations Chair on the Board of the Directors for the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce after successfully identifying it's new CEO, Javier Palomarez. David also helped the formation of the New America Alliance (NAA), an organization of Latino business leaders, and co-founded the United Community Bank of Lisle, which, since its inception in 2002, had grown into a $400-million organization.
David's professional contributions have earned him accolades, including Minorities in Business magazine’s “Entrepreneurial Spirit Award” and Hispanic Business magazine’s “Corporate Elite.” Gomez is a sought-after speaker, bringing his entrepreneurial and industry insight to audiences including the National Society of Hispanic MBAs and the National Black MBA Association.
Just as passionate about cultivating talent personally, David delivers his stirring message of personal success to young people. David has worked diligently to inspire children and teens through a past appointed position on the Illinois State Board of Education. David currently volunteers as a motivational speaker for students from the elementary to the collegiate level, even earning St. Augustine College’s “El Puente Award” for distinguished service to the community.

In 1979, several dedicated Hispanic leaders realized the enormous potential of the Hispanic business community in the United States and envisioned the need for a national organization to represent its interests before the public and private sectors. Later that year, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) was incorporated in the state of New Mexico, creating a structured organization aimed at developing a business network that would provide the Hispanic community with cohesion and strength. Since its inception, the USHCC has worked towards bringing the issues and concerns of the nation’s almost 3 million Hispanic-owned businesses to the forefront of the national economic agenda. Throughout its nearly 30-year history, the Chamber has enjoyed outstanding working relationships with international Heads of State, Members of Congress and the current White House Administration. Through its network of more than 200 local Hispanic Chambers of Commerce and Hispanic business organizations, the USHCC effectively communicates the needs and potential of Hispanic enterprise to the public and private sector in several ways including:
- Implementing and strengthening national programs that assist the economic development of Hispanic firms;
- Increasing business relationships and partnerships between the corporate sector and Hispanic-owned businesses;
- Promoting international trade between Hispanic businesses in the United States and Latin America;
- Monitoring legislation, policies and programs that affect the Hispanic business community; and Providing technical assistance to Hispanic business associations and entrepreneurs.
As the USHCC approaches its 30th anniversary with our continued commitment to the Hispanic business community, we have been developing new ways to pursue our mission.
