DG&A Client Spotlight: Detroit Medical Center

David Gomez and Associates was retained for the first time by Detroit Medical Center, a health care center that has provided medical excellence throughout the history of the Metropolitan Detroit area. From the founding of Children’s Hospital in 1886, to the creation of the first mechanical heart at Harper Hospital more than 50 years ago, to their compassion for the underserved, their legacy of caring is unmatched.

In January 2012, DG&A was brought on by Detroit Medical Center’s Mike Lacusta, DMC Physician Group President and Janet Hash, Manager of Recruiting & Workforce Planning to find a Director of Revenue Cycle. The Director—Revenue Cycle will have overall responsibiltiy for all functions related to the DMC Medical Group’s professional fee revenue cycle management. The Director must ensure the accuracy and timeliness of registration, charge capture, charge entry, claims submission, follow-up and account adjudication. This person will plan and direct the pre-verification of patient insurance, registration, billing and collections, and data processing to ensure accurate patient billing and efficient accoutn collection. 

DG&A is currently performing an executive search for DMC to find a candidate that has a proven track record with successful management and leadership in patient registration, previous experience with a large external professional billing company, and an analytical ability to serve in an advisory role in determining strategies to evaluate and direct complex systems that foster innovative approaches to processes associated with patient management and the revenue cycle.
